Happy Holidays!December 2, 2009Peggy Jumps for Joy that Santa and Mrs. Claus are coming for a visit!
If you could receive only one gift this Holiday Season, what would it be...
Would you ask for the chance to know what it feels like to walk? How about the chance to accomplish something that you never thought possible? Have you always wanted a pony?
What if you could give these gifs to someone else?
With your support this Holiday Season, these gifts will provide opportunities for over 350 children who take part in therapeutic horseback riding at Pride Stables.
With your sponsorship of a child, horse, paddock or stall, you can make a difference that will last a life time.
We realize that this may not be possible all at once. As a monthly donor, you can give a timeless gift of Pride.
A pony is a wonderful gift! So is the chance to walk without crutches, see without sight and believe in the invisible. You can give these special gifts to children in your community.
On behalf of everyone at Pride Stables, Happy Holidays and a galloping New Year!
Yes! I do want to make a contribution to Central Ontario Developmental Riding Program/Pride Stables!
A Story of Paula
Paula took the biggest little step of her life so far. With a helping hand, and a special belt around her waist for support, she gingerly stepped from the ramp onto the back of a waiting pony.
With trembling hands, she reached for the rainbow coloured reins and whispered the words that she was taught to say, "Walk on, Tootsie."
Her volunteer, John, smiled brightly and with a thumbs up, moved her pony forward. Tootsie snuffled. Paula's wheelchair never did that! She looked across the arena at her tiny, empty wheelchair parked by the door.
John Said, "Paula, look over here!" She turned in the saddle to see reflected in the mirror on the wall a small pony with the rider sitting straight and tall.
She smiled and the rider in the mirror smiled back.
"How do you feel?" John asked.
"I feel Pride," she said. "Walk on..." and together the moved forward.
